What educational, entrepreneurial or business development programs, if any, have you taken advantage of?
Most of our business development has been self-paced through various books and online education tracks. We also have been fortunate to tour some pretty interesting companies and bounce ideas off their teams.

Who was your first customer and where did you find them?
CMI International. When we first opened our doors in 1999 there was a decent amount of legacy equipment in the data center that we took over from CMI. We signed our first contract with them to manage this equipment throughout their transition phase.

Where did you find your first employee?
Our first employee was a referral from one of the original owners. He was living in New York at the time so we had a number of phone interviews, and then we wrote up an employment contract and moved him to Michigan.

Have you promoted an intern to employee status, and if so how many times have you done it?
We have done this on numerous occasions in our development, design and search marketing departments. We have a very specific way of delivering products and we find it is very beneficial to grow talent internally. We are always on the lookout for intelligent and talented interns to add to our team.

Where have you turned to find capital to grow your company and which institutions have provided it?
Actually, we've been fortunate enough to only look internally for the necessary capital to support our new initiatives. All of our growth has been 100 percent self-funded and will continue for the foreseeable future, or until a strategic move requires require us to reevaluate our position.

What are some of the advantages to doing business here?
The cost of doing business here is much lower for a high tech company than it would be in many areas. This has given us the ability to grow and still support a very talented technical team.

If you could change one thing about this region, what would it be?
We need to attract more talent to the area. Although there are some amazing people here, we tend to lose a lot to other growing areas. If I could change one thing, it would be changing the perception of the region in the rest of country's eyes. If more people knew about the amazing companies and opportunities that are here now, maybe we could retain more talent.
