Todd Riddley

What educational, entrepreneurial or business development programs, if any, have you taken advantage of?
I am participating in the Detroit Creative Corridor Center's Creative Ventures Program.

Who was your first customer and where did you find them?
Think electric vehicles. Word of mouth and through prior relationships.

Where did you find your first employee?
We use a network of creatives, so found them years ago through prior relationships and projects.

Have you promoted an intern to employee status, and if so how many times have you done it?

Where have you turned to find capital to grow your company and which institutions have provided it?
We're growing the business now with project based work and currently not looking for investment. In the future we plan to seek out programs and grants that help with certain types of overhead, like rent and computer/software purchases.

What could local leaders do to help attract and retain more entrepreneurial young people to Metro Detroit?
We need to continue to invest in and work with organizations like the Detroit Creative Corridor Center which is tasked, daily, with exactly that.

What do you see in Metro Detroit that other people who live outside the area don't?
There is a true sense of unique artistry and creativity in products and services that come out of Detroit and southeast Michigan. I believe this is a tangible and qualifiable element, and that perhaps it might take a little more persuading and "proof of concept" to get a greater buy-in. In a few years I can see Detroit being a destination for creative individuals who want to join a burgeoning group of like-minded people, for creative organizations opening up offices here or using groups of these creatives for projects, and for larger national brands bringing campaigns and projects to agencies/firms, groups or individuals based in Detroit.
