What educational, entrepreneurial or business development programs, if any, have you taken advantage of?
I have read a number of books on entrepreneurship. I have also received training in business development through my employers over the life of my career.

Who was your first customer and where did you find them?
Our first two customers are beta customers. We almost got both started on the same day. I found them through previous relationships. They requested that their name stay anonymous until the testing is concluded.

Where did you find your first employee?
He used to work for/with me

Have you promoted an intern to employee status, and if so how many times have you done it?
Not in this current company

Where have you turned to find capital to grow your company and which institutions have provided it?
I didn't have to go to any institution to borrow capital. Alcove9 has been self-funded.

What are some of the advantages to doing business here?
If you mean in Michigan then the answer is that Michigan has a lot of talented and skilled people at an affordable price for a startup. Also Michigan is looking to diversify into other business sectors to reduce the dependency on the automotive industry, so I felt that a software development business can be one of those businesses that can help Michigan diversify and as a result the state will be more inclined to help where help might be needed.

If you could change one thing about this region, what would it be?
We need to increase the number of programs that can assist businesses in growing a technology type company.
