What educational, entrepreneurial or business development programs, if any, have you taken advantage of?
We're very engaged in professional development including Public Relations Society of America, and business development including the Detroit Economic Club, Inforum, Detroit Regional Chamber, its Small Business Council, Leadership Detroit, the Michigan Chamber, Social Media Club of Detroit, to name a few.

Who was your first customer and where did you find them?
We've been around 46 years. Among our first clients were Stroh Brewery and Domino's Pizza.

Where did you find your first employee?
For all of our hiring we reach out to the great schools in Michigan for potential employees. We also use our networking efforts to discover potential hires.

Have you promoted an intern to employee status, and if so how many times have you done it?
Our internship program is the first place we look when we are hiring. Today, four of our employees started as interns at Franco. We have hired dozens over the years.

Where have you turned to find capital to grow your company and which institutions have provided it?
We have been with Comerica Bank's middle market group since 1993. It's a great relationship.

What do you see in Metro Detroit that other people who live outside the area don't?
Its beauty, its diversity, its resilience.

What advice would you give to someone who was thinking about opening a business here?
Believe in Michigan and in Detroit. Franco is proud to have been in Detroit for all of our 46 years. Our team loves working at the RenCen. Also, take advantage of the wide array of networking opportunities and organizations that offer seminars and advice on helping entrepreneurs get started.
