What are some of the advantages to doing business here?
Where do we start? So much to know that's why linking in with an organization who is providing entrepreneurial classes is so very important. In the classroom setting you will learn start-up cost, writing a business plan, importance of personal credit scores, reading a balance sheet, profit and loss statements, establishing your brand, knowing your competitiveness, cost of leasing vs buying and finally financing. These types of classes also lend themselves to net-working opportunities which is vital to growing and staying in business.

Where did you find your first employee?
My very first employee was a co-worker when I worked for a pharmaceutical company. I recruited her because I knew her commitment to doing a really great job. She was dedicated and a great person to be around. I recruited her and she has been with me ever since.
Have you promoted an intern to employee status, and if so how many times have you done it?
We have promoted interns to employees about four times. We love watching them grow.
Where have you turned to find capital to grow your company and which institutions have provided it?
At the beginning financing was done with sweat equity. My late husband Richard and I worked long hours and didn't get paid too much. I would work at sales one day and was the tortilla delivery driver the next. After that it was a loan from our life insurance policy then we moved to credit cards (expensive but not too hard to get) later we got financing from Chase Bank. They know us and are committed to helping us grow right here in the city.
