What educational, entrepreneurial or business development programs, if any, have you taken advantage of?
Growing up with two parents who design and perform training for business development, I've been inundated with it my whole life. It's kind of a joke in my family that we can't have a holiday without at least a Myers-Briggs test. (I'm an ENFP by the way) Synergy has been lucky enough to also receive some corporate mentoring from wireless guru Jim Selby
.Who was your first customer and where did you find them?
Our first customer was my mom, we registered a domain name for her. Our first real broadband customer was Wagner Design. It was a cold call and they are still a customer today.Where did you find your first employee?
I believe the first employee ad we placed was in the Ann Arbor News.Have you promoted an intern to employee status, and if so how many times have you done it?
Yes, we have only done this one time.Where have you turned to find capital to grow your company and which institutions have provided it?
Synergy Broadband is very proud of the fact that we have grown primarily organically. What are some of the advantages to doing business here?
This area is rich with local technical talent. For me though, the biggest advantage is that Ann Arbor is that is such an interesting place to live and work. It's brainy, has a sense of community with a little bit of city and there's a collaborative spirit to the business professionals here.If you could change one thing about this region, what would it be?
I would love it if we could adopt a mass transit system.
