The more connected people are the more Detroit becomes valuable. We need to provide a way to frequently mix in first-time entrepreneurs with people who have experience starting a company. From there a culture of risk-taking emerges and all of a sudden you have a thriving entrepreneurial society.What advice would you give to someone who was thinking about opening a business here?
Make friends with people who have experience starting and growing a business. Also, get a good business accountant and a good business lawyer. And tap into the social media community here: Everyone in it is well connected and friendly as well.Name an idea, policy or mindset from elsewhere that you would like to see this region adopt?
I'd like to see the culture of Silicon Valley make its way into the minds of Detroiters. They have a risk-taking culture, critical mass of entrepreneurs, and their acceptance of failure virtually guarantees a steady stream of innovation.
