Name an idea, policy or mindset from elsewhere that you would like to see this region adopt
The State and a handful of institutions in Michigan have actively supported our local venture industry with investment, but on the whole the balance of Michigan-based pension funds, endowments and foundations have ignored the wealth of opportunity for investing in venture capital in their own backyards. What advice would you give to someone who was thinking about opening a business here?
Don't underestimate the amount of capital necessary or the competitive dynamics. And remember an overnight success takes five years.

What do you see in Metro Detroit that other people who live outside the area don't?
