Anthony Majewski

What educational, entrepreneurial or business development programs, if any, have you taken advantage of?
I have a masters of business administration with a specialization in marketing from Walsh College. I have worked with Blackstone Launchpad at Walsh College with my business as well utilizing business venture coaches, seminars, and have taken direction from Walsh LaunchPad staff in order to help my business succeed.

Where have you turned to find capital to grow your company and which institutions have provided it?
I am self-funded and relied on my full-time employment to fund my business. I will be seeking capital for brick and mortar locations in 2013 and at that time possible utilizing venture capitalist groups and/or angel investors.

What advice would you give to someone who was thinking about opening a business here?
No matter what advice people tell you, believe in your idea. Execute and network with those who may open areas of opportunity for you.

What do you see in Metro Detroit that other people who live outside the area don't?
Opportunity. Having lived around the country, I call Metro Detroit home. Why you may ask? It is because of people. The resources and talent available can compete with any other part of the country. Another area that needs to be pointed out is that we have more than just the auto industry. There are many sectors of industry here in Michigan from health care, technology, packaging, to agriculture just to name a few that can provide great benefit to our region as well others.

What are some of the advantages to doing business here?
Great educational Institutions especially graduate business schools like Walsh College. These are great places to take advantage of the talented resources available for your business. Another advantage is resources like Automation Alley that helps drives growth and economic development through a collaborative culture that focuses on workforce and business development initiatives. Another example is Oakland University's SmartZone Business Incubator which provides entrepreneurial resources and strategic business solutions for entrepreneurs.

If you could change one thing about this region, what would it be?
The perception that Michigan businesses lack the ability compete. The businesses in this region have the same opportunities as others around the county. We have to think outside the box and prove we deserve to be the best.
