The 60,000 square-foot store also features a Tim Horton's coffee shop, a favorite of locals; along with a Middle Eastern-style cafe, flower shop, and pharmacy as well as a focus on organic products.

Roma Bakery

In a few months the owners of Dearborn’s Roma Bakery will share their reputable products with a new community when they launch a second location in Ann Arbor. Although it hasn’t opened yet, many Ann Arbor residents already have a history with Roma Bakery which was initially established in 1948 under the ownership of Italians who sold it after more than 20 years. Throughout the decades different owners assumed operation and never changed the name. Roma Bakery carries a wide variety of mini pies, various types of breads including zaatar and cheese, family size pizza, pepperoni rolls, hummus, tabouli, desserts and tea biscuits among other items. The menu options are more savory than sweet.

Shatila Bakery

Shatila Bakery began as a small Middle Eastern bakery shop in Dearborn, Michigan and eventually turned into one of the biggest brand names to come out of the city. Its signature baklava trays and rich ice cream flavors have become a permanent fixture to both Arabs and non-Arab Americans and are now working their way across the country, where the company has also found great success in mass shipping.

Crave

“It’s great to have a California or tuna roll but I think it can go further,” said Crave co-owner Khalil Ramadan, who is business partners with his brother Alex. Crave of West Dearborn features Mediterranean herbs and spices infused into sushi rolls and other items. There is also a bold variety of poultry, seafood and beef delicacies including lemon grass filet and citrus chicken to look forward to. It opened seven years ago and has been voted best sushi bar in metro-Detroit every year since while still managing to hold the title of best restaurant in Dearborn four years in a row.

Basha Diagnostics

Basha Diagnostics is a medical diagnostics company that was founded by Dr. Yahya Basha in 1980. Chez Zara

Chez Zara is a European style coffee shop located in downtown Detroit and owned by Arab American Mallak Beydoun of Dearborn Heights, Michigan. Since opening its doors last year, the shop has maintained a high profile presence amongst area employees, who enjoy the shop's imported, rich tasting espresso drinks that set it apart from the bigger coffee chains in the country.

Royal Dutchess

Royal Dutchess, a trendy boutique in West Bloomfield, is making luxury affordable with its reasonable prices. Dresses and other high fashion garments can be found marked at $30 to $80. Another plus is the service. "We are like their personal stylist. It's more than just coming in here and shopping. It's a one-on-one thing," co-owner Leslie Binno said. She's business partners with her sister Candice Binno Pattah. Initially, Royal Dutchess was launched as the clothing site www.royaldutchessinc.com before the bricks and mortar store opened in December 2010.
