Park n Party is back and bigger this year. The Ann Arbor-based Internet start-up specializes in online event parking reservations and has expanded it coverage area to include downtown Ann Arbor with parking for this summer's Ann Arbor Art Fairs.

Park n Party launched last fall, providing Web surfers with an avenue to reserve parking spots for University of Michigan football games. The 1-year-old start-up flourished, helping thousands of people from around the world find easy parking accommodations on football Saturdays.

"We surpassed our expectations," says Jason Kapica, co-founder of Park n Party. "We went into this not knowing if there was even a market for this. Just the fact that we took this idea of reserving parking spaces online for University of Michigan football last year and were able to turn it into a business is a big accomplishment."

Park n Party is made up of a team of four people and has plans for further expansion later this year. It's co-founders are looking to bring their services to downtown Detroit to take advantage of the professional sports and event crowds. It is also looking at expanding into other Big 10 campuses later this year.

"We learned quite a bit about football parking and tailgating last season," Kapica says.
